The Defiance LT solves this by positioning the thermal sensor externally on the roof of the vehicle. You remain inside while the camera has an unobstructed thermal view of the surrounding landscape. Its elevated mounting position also gives the system an excellent vantage point for scanning across hedges, crops, rough vegetation and undulating ground.

Continuous 360° Pan, Tilt & Zoom

The PTZ – Pan, Tilt and Zoom – design is what separates the Defiance LT from a conventional fixed thermal camera.

The camera offers continuous 360° horizontal rotation, allowing you to scan completely around the vehicle without reaching for a handheld thermal spotter. Vertical adjustment extends from straight down to 45° above horizontal, providing extensive coverage from a roof-mounted position.

Variable-speed remote control lets you move quickly when searching a large area before slowing the movement for more precise observation once a heat signature has been detected.

A 1-8x digital zoom then allows a detected heat source to be examined more closely.

A direct wired connection between the thermal camera and display is designed to provide a low-latency image, keeping camera movement and the displayed thermal picture closely synchronised.

The large display is particularly useful when working with another person. Driver and passenger can both see what's happening rather than having to pass a thermal monocular between them.
