The move to 1280-resolution HD thermal provides considerably more image information than conventional 640-class thermal sensors. Like the DXT50, the DXR50 combines this thermal channel with 4K full-colour digital imaging, allowing the user to move from rapid thermal detection to a more natural digital image for closer observation and assessment.

Image stabilisation further assists observation, particularly when using increased magnification or viewing an animal for an extended period.
