Immersive Optics 10x40 Prismatic Scope - Further Information

The Immersive Optics 10x40 Prismatic Scope combines powerful 10x fixed magnification with a larger 40 mm objective lens, ultra-wide field of view and remarkably compact prismatic optical system.

Designed particularly for recoilless rifles and air rifles, the 10x40 provides the magnification required for precise longer-range shooting without the length and bulk normally associated with a conventional 10x riflescope.

Its innovative prism-based optical system delivers an exceptional 11.4 m field of view at 100 metres, close focusing down to just 6 metres and high-quality Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass for a crisp, detailed sight picture with excellent colour reproduction.

This version features the illuminated glass-etched Mildot Extended reticle and is supplied complete with MOA adjustable mounts, creating a compact and highly capable optical package for serious air rifle shooters.

Powerful 10x Fixed Magnification

The Immersive Optics 10x40 provides 10x fixed optical magnification, making it particularly well suited to precision shooting where target detail and accurate shot placement are important.

Rather than using a conventional variable-magnification optical system, Immersive Optics has developed an innovative prismatic design that allows high magnification to be delivered from a dramatically shorter optic.

The result is a scope measuring only 135 mm long, helping maintain a compact and well-balanced rifle setup.

Larger 40mm Objective Lens

The 40 mm objective lens distinguishes this model from the smaller Immersive Optics 10x24.

For shooters who want the compact advantages of a prismatic scope but prefer a larger objective, the 10x40 provides an excellent balance of magnification, light transmission, field of view and compact dimensions.

This makes it a particularly attractive choice for precision air rifle shooting across a wide range of conditions.

Exceptional 11.4m Field of View

One of the most impressive characteristics of the Immersive Optics 10x40 is its exceptionally wide field of view.

At 10x magnification, the scope provides a huge 11.4 m field of view at 100 metres – approximately 34 ft at 100 yards.

Immersive Optics states that its prismatic technology can provide a field of view up to four times wider than traditional riflescopes.

A wider field of view allows the shooter to see considerably more of the surrounding area through the optic, assisting with target acquisition and providing a less restrictive sight picture than might normally be expected from a fixed 10x scope.

Close Focus Down to 6 Metres

Despite offering 10x magnification, the Immersive Optics 10x40 can focus down to just 6 metres.

This makes it particularly useful for air rifle shooting, where target distances can vary considerably and conventional high-magnification scopes may struggle to focus clearly at very short ranges.

The combination of 6 m close focus, 10x magnification and ultra-wide field of view gives the 10x40 impressive versatility across both short and extended shooting distances.

Parallax-Free Prismatic Design

The Immersive Optics 10x40 uses a parallax-free optical design, helping provide a clear and consistent aiming image across its usable focusing range.

Combined with the scope's close-focus capability and wide field of view, this makes target acquisition fast and intuitive while retaining the precision expected from a 10x optic.

Extra-Low Dispersion ED Glass

Optical quality is at the heart of the Immersive Optics design.

The 10x40 incorporates Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass, which helps minimise chromatic aberration and unwanted colour fringing.

This results in more natural colour reproduction, improved contrast and a crisp, detailed sight picture – particularly valuable when using 10x magnification to identify fine target detail.

Mildot Extended Illuminated Reticle

This version of the 10x40 features the Mildot Extended reticle, providing additional reference points compared with a basic aiming reticle.

The reticle is glass etched, ensuring a precise and clearly defined aiming structure, while illumination improves visibility against challenging targets and backgrounds.

For shooters who make use of holdover and windage references, the Mildot Extended design provides a useful amount of additional information without sacrificing the compact advantages of the prismatic scope.

Precision 0.1 MIL Adjustments

The Immersive Optics 10x40 features high-precision 0.1 MIL windage and elevation adjustments.

Each click corresponds to approximately 1 cm at 100 metres, providing simple and repeatable adjustment when zeroing the rifle.

The adjustment system provides:

  • 0.1 MIL adjustment per click
  • 50 clicks per revolution
  • 5 MIL / approximately 15 MOA travel per rotation
  • Up to 28 MIL / approximately 83 MOA maximum elevation adjustment
  • Up to 28 MIL / approximately 83 MOA maximum windage adjustment

This provides a substantial adjustment range from an exceptionally compact optic.

Supplied with MOA Adjustable Mounts

The Immersive Optics 10x40 is supplied complete with a set of MOA adjustable mounts.

These allow additional adjustment to be introduced through the mounting system rather than relying entirely on the scope's internal windage and elevation range.

For air rifle shooters, particularly those working across different distances and trajectories, an adjustable mounting system can be extremely useful when setting up and optimising the scope.

Ultra-Compact Prismatic Design

At just 135 mm long, the Immersive Optics 10x40 is dramatically shorter than a traditional 10x riflescope.

The prismatic optical system removes the requirement for the long optical path associated with a conventional riflescope, allowing Immersive Optics to package high magnification and a 40 mm objective into an exceptionally compact housing.

The scope measures approximately 80 × 60 × 135 mm and weighs approximately 485 g including the MOA adjustable mounts.

Improved Rifle Balance

A shorter optic can also significantly change the way a rifle feels.

Rather than positioning a long optical system along the top of the rifle, the compact 10x40 keeps the optic's mass concentrated within a much smaller area.

This can provide better weight distribution and rifle balance, reducing the front-heavy feel that can occur when fitting larger conventional optics.

For shooters spending extended periods behind the rifle, improved balance can also help reduce fatigue.

Short Eye Relief Design

The 10x40 features a deliberately short 17 mm eye relief, which forms an important part of the Immersive Optics prismatic design and helps deliver its extremely wide field of view.

Correct scope positioning is therefore important to achieve the optimum sight picture.

Due to the short eye relief, Immersive Optics recommends the 10x40 for recoilless guns.

This makes the scope particularly well suited to PCP air rifles and other recoilless shooting platforms where its compact dimensions, 10x magnification and wide field of view can be fully exploited.

CNC Machined Construction

Immersive Optics riflescopes are CNC machined for precision and reliability, providing a robust housing for the internal optical system.

The compact construction also reduces unnecessary bulk while maintaining the structural integrity required from an optic designed for regular field and range use.

Waterproof & Nitrogen Filled

The 10x40 is waterproof and nitrogen filled, helping protect the internal optical system against moisture and internal fogging.

This allows the scope to cope with changing temperatures and weather conditions encountered during normal outdoor shooting.

Innovative Lens Cap Retention

Immersive Optics has even considered what happens to the lens caps once you start shooting.

The integrated lens cap retention system allows the caps to be secured neatly against the side of the scope when opened, keeping them away from the sight picture and preventing them from becoming an unnecessary distraction.
