HIKMICRO Thunder 4.0 TQ35L Thermal Add-On - Further Information

The THUNDER 4.0 TQ35CL uses a 640 × 512, 12 µm thermal detector to reveal animals and surrounding terrain through their heat signatures. Thermal sensitivity below 12 mK helps distinguish subtle temperature differences, while the 35 mm F1.0 lens provides a broad view for scanning woodland edges, fields and surrounding cover. Its quoted detection range reaches 1,800 meters.

Designed as a front-mounted thermal clip-on, the TQ35CL works with a compatible daytime riflescope, allowing you to retain your familiar viewing setup. It provides 1× magnification in clip-on mode, with recommended daytime scope magnification of 1–15×. Image calibration and five zeroing profiles provide flexibility when configuring the unit.

A 1920 × 1080 AMOLED display presents the thermal image, supported by HIKMICRO Image Pro 4.0 processing. The HIKMICRO Shutterless Image System (HSIS) and Sync Pro support responsive, uninterrupted viewing. Six colour palettes, adjustable brightness and warm or cool image tones let you adapt the display to your preferences and the conditions.

The laser rangefinder is integrated into the lens assembly and measures distances from 10 to 1,200 metres. This provides convenient distance information while maintaining the unit’s compact profile.

On-board video and audio recording allow you to document activity in the field, while recoil-activated recording captures footage automatically around a shot. Photographs and videos are saved to 64 GB of internal storage, with a local album for reviewing recordings and hotspot connectivity for wireless use.

A rechargeable, replaceable HM-3840DC battery provides at least six hours of operation at 25°C, with the hotspot switched off and the rangefinder on. USB-C supports direct charging and an external power supply, providing additional flexibility during longer outings.

The magnesium-alloy body and lens cover combine manageable weight with robust construction. IP67 protection, a −30°C to +55°C operating range and a stated maximum recoil resistance of 6,000 J support use in demanding field conditions. A soft-closing magnetic lens cap and lever-style power switch add practical convenience.
