The BNVS PHOTONIS ECHO ONYX Night Vision Goggles are a professional binocular night vision system designed for demanding low-light and night-time observation applications where mobility, situational awareness and hands-free operation are essential.
Equipped with PHOTONIS ECHO P45 white phosphor image intensifier tubes, the BNVS provides a clear, high-contrast night vision image for professional users operating in extremely low ambient light. The supplied PHOTONIS tube specification provides a FOM of 1600–2000, minimum signal-to-noise ratio of 23 and centre resolution from 57 up to 74 lp/mm.
Designed for helmet or head-mounted use, the BNVS enables hands-free night vision observation, making it particularly suitable for tactical operations, security and surveillance, maritime security and anti-piracy operations, search and rescue, perimeter observation and other professional applications where maintaining freedom of movement is important.
With 1x magnification and a 40° field of view, the system provides a natural viewing perspective for movement and observation rather than the restricted perspective associated with higher-magnification optical devices. The individual optical channels can also be flipped independently when required.
PHOTONIS ECHO P45 White Phosphor Night Vision
At the heart of the BNVS are 18mm PHOTONIS ECHO image intensifier tubes with P45 phosphor, commonly referred to as white phosphor or ONYX night vision.
The supplied PHOTONIS specification identifies the tube as an 18mm micro-channel image intensifier incorporating an electron multiplier plate and P45 phosphor, with an inverting fibre-optic output window.
The specification also confirms autogating, allowing the image intensifier to operate across changing illumination conditions. The supplied tube specification gives a minimum high-light resolution of 50 lp/mm at over 200 lux.
