What Are Day Optics?

Day optics are sighting and viewing devices designed for use in normal daylight. The category covers riflescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes and the accessories that go with them, such as mounts, rings and tripods. Unlike thermal or night vision devices, day optics rely on visible light and high-quality glass to deliver a clear image, with features like adjustable magnification, side focus and illuminated reticles to help you aim or observe accurately.

Rifle Scopes

A rifle scope is the most common day optic, used to aim accurately at distance. We stock scopes for air rifles, rimfire and centrefire rifles, with a range of magnifications, objective lens sizes and reticle options. Many of our scopes also have large objective lenses and side focus, which makes them suitable for fitting a night vision or thermal add-on later. The DNT NVMD-C200 is a popular all-round choice for hunters and stalkers.

Precision Riflescopes

Precision riflescopes are built for long-range target shooting and demanding hunting use. They typically have higher magnification, finer turret adjustments, first focal plane reticles and tighter tolerances than standard scopes. This makes it easier to dial in for distance and wind, and to hold accurate shots out to several hundred metres. The Element Optics Helix 1500 Ballistic LRF combines a precision scope with a built-in laser rangefinder, which removes the need to carry a separate device.

Shooting and Range Equipment

Alongside scopes and binoculars, we stock the equipment that supports accurate shooting on the range and in the field. This includes chronographs, tripods, rifle rests, mounts and rings. The Garmin Xero C1 Pro measures projectile speed for load development and ballistic data, while the Rekon CT1 Tripod gives a stable platform for spotting and shooting.
