Rifle Shooter reviews Pulsar Thermal

With a detection range of up to 1800m, super fast start up time, 50hz refresh and state of the art thermal detection the new Pulsar Quantum XQ50 is THE choice of hand held thermal imager for the hunting professional.  Chris Parkin from Rifle Shooter magazine puts it through its paces in this issue.

The Pulsar Quantum XQ50 has now been replaced by the Pulsar Helion XQ50F which utilises the same sensor, but with a whole host of improvements including Wifi, Video Recording, new lens system and a heat sink to reduce image noise and blemishes.

With a variable 4.1x to 16.4x magnification the Helion XQ50F now has integrated Picture in Picture display, providing a wide field of view, twinned with a zoomed in image set into the display.

Like the Quantum XQ50F, the new Helion has a 1.8km man sized detection range, full colour thermal palettes, but instead of a video out cable to record footage, simply click the record button to capture still images or videos to the onboard storage.
