The Ultimate Camouflage Concealment Hunting Clothing from Harkila
The new Harkila Q Fleece features Gore's new Optifade cammo pattern, is this the ultimate in concealment?
How does it work?
When choosing the correct hunting clothing it is crucial that you consider clothing that will cover your scent, and break up your outline using the right colour of clothing, whether it be a hunting green colour or one of the many camoflage patterns such as Realtree, Mossy Oak etc, that use patterns of leaves, sticks, and grass to break up your outline.
Gore Optifade concealment is the first concealment system designed around animal vision and not human eyesight, ensuring that animals cannot see you, and Gore collaborated with animal vision experts to determine exactly how deer and other hoofed animals see, both spatially and colorimetrically
Unlike camouflage that mimics forestry and tree/grass background, Optifade prevents your prey from recognizing you as a predator, even if detected.

Harkila's Q Fleece
The new Harkila Q Fleece range features the latest camouflage pattern to hit the UK, the Gore Optifade concealment system.
The Q Fleece range of garments from Harkila in Denmark, are made with Gore Windstopper for protection from wind chill, whilst offering a degree of protection from rain showers.
Camouflage has been often confined to the traditional leaf patterns but digital breakup patterns are much more effective at camouflaging your outline in the woods.
Its often the case when hunting that people have a particular cammo pattern which is ideal for a broadleaf woodland area, but they find they stand out "like a sore thumb" when using the cammo on a different background such as a marsh moor. Optifade is the answer!
With Optifade you literally become nothing to see, simply disappearing into an object of no threat or interest to animals, essentially making you invisible as you are simply not worth looking at!
This reversible jacket is ideal for stalking as you can wear the cammo side when hunting, and then reverse to the plain solid colour side for normal use.
The Main fabric is 100% polyester with a contrast trim and features two vertical and two horizontal chest pockets which are ideal for storing essentials such as ammo etc
An arm pocket and two front pockets are also featured giving you plenty of places to store your gear.
The trousers are in Digital Cammo only and feature Cordura reinforcements and a Gore Windstopper membrane.

What Gore has to say (extract from Gore.com)
The Gore Optifade Concealment incorporates a micro and a macro pattern. The unique micro-pattern considers the way a deer or other ungulate perceives color, the ratio of positive to negative space and other visual elements to create an effect that allows the hunter to blend with the animal’s perception of the environment. The macro-pattern breaks up the symmetry of the human body so that if a hunter is detected, the animal will not be able to identify the hunter as a predator.
Experts point out that predators in the animal kingdom operate on the same macro and micro pattern principles. “Stalking predators, like tigers, have a macro-pattern of stripes that break up their body symmetry as they move through their environment.

Ambush predators, like spotted leopards, utilize micro patterns that enable them to blend with their environment while poised to attack,” says Retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Tim O’Neill, PhD, one of W. L. Gore’s advisors on the the project.
GORE™ OPTIFADE™ Concealment is a whole new category of concealment. Interestingly, in the wild, mimicry patterns like those on more traditional hunting camouflage are most often employed by prey – not by predators.”
